Prototype This

While playing a video game I had on in the background a discovery show called Prototype this.  More than once I found myself looking at the other monitor to watch the show rather than what I was doing in the game.  Yes, I died.  I found myself at the graveyard wondering what happened.

Anyway, in the shows I watched they built the "Get up and Go" a bed, shower and pda all built into one.  I don't think it will be very marketable but it's a neat idea.  Nice to see something from the Jetsons actually working in real life.  And yes it did seem to work.  They also built a truck that could park itself side ways, lift itself over other cars and park over another car.  They used some special lift wheels that could move in all directions.  Neat stuff.

The Ugly Truth

This is a movie that Netflix said I'd love.  I'm not so sure that love is what I'd call it but it was cute.

The story they told about the girl who likes a guy and doesn't like him but they end up together anyway is getting old.  They told the story well but the end was expected.  Or was it, "You'll never know!"  Well unless you watch the movie.  = )

3:10 to Yuma

Funny thing about this movie, I've seen it twice before but when adding it to my Netflix queue I didn't realize I had seen it before.  Oh well, it was a good re-watch.

Russell Crowe makes a really good bad guy.  Definitely worth giving it a watch if you haven't seen it yet...or in my case re-watching it.

It is about a rancher in the old west that is about to lose his farm when he crosses paths with a notorious bad guy.

The Blind Side

Last night I watched "The Blind Side."

I tell you wut, that movie had me crying at the end.  And then to find out that it was based on a true story.  Makes me think there are some good people in this world.  Too bad they are so few and far in between.

Anyway, if you don't know the movie is about a boy, a rather large boy, who is homeless and out on the streets.  A man, I think his father but I'm not sure, got him into a school private school through the school's coach.  The coach was hoping the boy would be playing some fooseball because he was so big.  The boy's name is Michael but people called him "Big Mike", he didn't like it though.

Anyway, one rainy day Michael was walking in the rain and a family on their way home saw him and offered to take him home with them.

See it if you want to know the rest.

Excellent story!

TV & Movies

Last year I canceled my cable.  It was getting way to expensive for the dreadful service I was receiving and here in this apartment building I have no choice in providers.  The apartment managers won't allow a satellite on the roof and only Charter Communications services the cable from the street (I guess) to the apartment building.

They kind of got you by the short and curlies if you want to watch live TV.  Anyway, I was short on funds last year and decided that in an attempt at saving a few bucks I'd stop watching television.  I called them up and said "I don't need you anymore."  I still have my inter net through them, again only because I don't have a choice but I saved $118 that first month.  Now its less than that because they raised my inter net bill up to about what my cell bill is.  o.O

One of the main issues that pushed me into getting rid of the cable, other than the money I was spending, was I had three cable boxes die on me in less than a month.  One repair guy said they were all brand new.  The next guy said that they are all refurbished and the guy after that didn't seem to know or care.  They all seemed nice and the boxes worked before they left but not for long after they left.  I think the boxes are re issued without any kind of quality control.

I noticed that since I don't have television I've been watching a lot of movies.  Most of them through Netflix's instant queue.  Hulu is awesome for those shows I just couldn't give up.

I realized the other day that I've rated over 1200 movies and shows in the Netflix selection list and I don't rate anything that I haven't seen...that's a lot of time to spend in front of some screen!  Anyway, I'm going to start listing them here in the blog and give my thoughts on them.

From the phone about the new phone...

Friday my phone died.

If you read my facebook post about it you would know just how badly I felt.  Well maybe not bad...  Perhaps, I was...let's say...unhappy about spending so much money on a replacement phone would be a better way of putting it.

I've always wanted a PDA but could never justfy the cost. I mean what would I use it for?  I knew, back then, if I had gotten one it would have been the new novelty item and then dropped in a drawr to collect dust dew to lack of interest and use. I won't lie, I like toys. Unfortunately, my eyes have always been bigger than my wallet. That being said, I think this phone was a good purchase.

Why? I needed a phone and now I have that PDA I always wanted and more. My main problem is that I wasn't ready. My old phone pushed the issue thouh. I would have been ready for a new phone around Christmas time. I already started reseaching phones. The blackberry had my eye for quite a while. But then I heard the story about butt dialing and the havoc it can cause.

I bought the iPhone 3gs knowing the new phone (64gig) would be released soon. I wish the size was bigger because I can easily fill my 80 gig iPod. But then do I really listen to all of that music? No not really. I do, however, find myself wanting to listen to song that I don't have with me now.

Don't have it; want it. My biggest problem.

EDIT: This is also a repost

...is back!

Hello,

The blog is back.  I had to make some changes due to the installer's incompetence (oh wait! I'm the installer) but everything should be working again.  Unfortunately I lost all of my old posts.  = /

Anyway, more later.  I'm going to see if this thing works with my iphone...which is the whole reason for the change!

EDIT:  This is a repost.  It seems my blog has been used as an advertisment source for a bunch of crap.  Instead of deleting the hundreds of comments one by one I deleted the post.  Don't be a jerk and advertise your crap on my site.  Although, if you want to give me money we can talk.
